Ingredients

  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced

  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)

  • 1 green chili, chopped

  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander

  • ½ tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp red chili powder

  • ½ tsp carom seeds (ajwain)

  • Salt to taste

  • Water as needed

  • Oil for deep frying

Directions

  • In a bowl, mix sliced onions, green chili, coriander, and salt.
  • Add gram flour, turmeric, chili powder, and ajwain.
  • Mix well and add little water to form a thick batter.
  • Heat oil in a pan on medium heat.
  • Drop small portions of batter into hot oil.
  • Fry until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove and drain excess oil. Serve hot.
