Ingredients

  • For Meat Sauce

  • 500g ground beef or chicken

  • 2 cups tomato sauce

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp oregano

  • 1 tsp basil

  • For Cheese Layer

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese

  • 1 egg

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Heat olive oil in a pan, sauté onion and garlic until soft.
  • Add ground meat and cook until browned.
  • Stir in tomato sauce, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Simmer for 10–15 minutes.
  • In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, and Parmesan cheese.
  • In a baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce.
  • Add a layer of lasagna sheets, then ricotta mixture, and mozzarella cheese.
  • Repeat layers until ingredients are used, finishing with cheese on top.
  • Bake for 40–50 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  • Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  • Serve hot.
