Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • ½ cup sugar

  • ½ cup honey

  • ½ cup oil or melted butter

  • 2 eggs

  • ½ cup milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Zest of 1 orange

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking pan.
  • In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon.
  • In another bowl, whisk sugar, honey, oil, eggs, milk, and vanilla.
  • Combine dry and wet ingredients and mix until smooth.
  • Pour batter into the pan and bake for 30–35 minutes.
  • Mix honey and warm water to make syrup.
  • Pour syrup over warm cake and let it soak.
  • Cool, slice, and serve.
