Honey-Chamomile Prosecco Cocktail

A soothing yet sparkling drink, the Honey-Chamomile Prosecco Cocktail combines floral chamomile tea with the sweetness of honey and the bubbly elegance of Prosecco. This cocktail is perfect for a relaxing evening or as a sophisticated brunch drink.

Origin Honey-Chamomile Prosecco Cocktail

Chamomile-infused drinks have been enjoyed for centuries, dating back to ancient Egyptian and Greek civilizations, where chamomile was prized for its calming properties. Today, its delicate floral notes pair beautifully with honey and Prosecco, creating a refined cocktail reminiscent of herbal aperitifs enjoyed in Europe.

What I Love About This Recipe

The contrast between the calming warmth of chamomile and the lively fizz of Prosecco makes this cocktail truly special. The honey adds just the right touch of sweetness, while a splash of lemon juice brightens the flavors. It’s an elegant yet effortless drink that feels both luxurious and comforting.

Ingredients

  • 1 chamomile tea bag (or 1 teaspoon dried chamomile flowers)

  • ½ cup hot water

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

  • 3 ounces chilled Prosecco

  • Ice (optional)

  • Fresh chamomile flowers or lemon twist (for garnish)

Directions

  • Brew the chamomile tea: Steep the chamomile tea bag in hot water for about 5-7 minutes. Remove the tea bag and let the tea cool to room temperature.
  • Sweeten the tea: Stir in the honey while the tea is still warm so it dissolves completely. Let it cool.
  • Mix the cocktail: In a champagne flute or coupe glass, combine the cooled chamomile tea and lemon juice.
  • Top with Prosecco: Slowly pour the chilled Prosecco over the tea mixture. Stir gently to combine.
  • Garnish and serve: Add a fresh chamomile flower or a lemon twist for an elegant touch. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey to taste.
  • For an iced version, chill the chamomile tea in the refrigerator and serve over ice.
  • If you prefer a stronger floral flavor, steep the chamomile tea longer.
