Ingredients

  • ¼ cup basmati rice

  • 1 liter milk

  • ½ cup sugar (adjust to taste)

  • ¼ tsp cardamom powder

  • Few saffron strands (optional)

  • 2 tbsp chopped almonds and pistachios

Directions

  • Wash rice and soak for 30 minutes.
  • Drain and grind rice into a coarse paste using little water.
  • Heat milk in a pan and bring to a gentle boil.
  • Add ground rice paste while stirring continuously.
  • Cook on low flame until mixture thickens.
  • Add sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron. Mix well.
  • Cook for another 5 minutes until creamy.
  • Pour into bowls, garnish with nuts, and chill before serving.
