Crunchy, golden, and irresistibly flavorful, The Very Best Granola is a homemade blend of oats, nuts, seeds, and natural sweeteners—perfect for sprinkling over yogurt, enjoying with milk, or eating by the handful as a wholesome snack.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups rolled oats

  • 1 cup chopped nuts (almonds, pecans, or walnuts)

  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut (optional)

  • 1/2 cup maple syrup or honey

  • 1/3 cup melted coconut oil or olive oil

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2–1 cup dried fruit (raisins, cranberries, chopped apricots) – add after baking

Directions

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mix together oats, nuts, coconut (if using), cinnamon, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together maple syrup, oil, and vanilla. Pour over dry ingredients and stir to coat evenly.
  • Spread mixture on the baking sheet and press down slightly for clumps.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden brown.
  • Let cool completely without stirring for chunkier granola. Stir in dried fruit once cool. Store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, bake an additional 5–10 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.
  • Mix in extras like chia seeds, flaxseeds, or cocoa nibs before baking for added nutrition and flavor.
  • Swap maple syrup with agave or honey (if not vegan).
  • Serve with milk, yogurt, smoothie bowls, or just eat by the handful!
