Ingredients

  • 2 cups roasted peanuts (unsalted or salted)

  • 1–2 teaspoons honey or sugar (optional)

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional, if using unsalted peanuts)

  • 1–2 teaspoons peanut oil (optional, for smoother texture)

Directions

  • Start by placing the roasted peanuts into a food processor or high-speed blender. Blend on high speed for about 1–2 minutes until the peanuts turn into a crumbly mixture.
  • Continue blending. The mixture will begin to release its natural oils and become smooth and creamy. This process may take 3–5 minutes depending on your blender. Pause occasionally to scrape down the sides.
  • If you prefer sweet peanut butter, add honey or sugar at this stage. For a smoother consistency, you can also add a teaspoon of peanut oil. Blend again until fully combined and silky.
  • Taste and adjust salt if needed. For chunky peanut butter, stir in a handful of chopped peanuts after blending.
  • Transfer the peanut butter to a clean, airtight jar. Let it cool and store properly.

Notes

  • Store homemade peanut butter in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2–3 weeks. Stir before use if natural oil separation occurs.
  • Spread on toast, add to smoothies, drizzle over pancakes, or use in baking cookies and desserts.
