3 cups all-purpose flour
¼ cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon powder
¼ tsp nutmeg powder
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp yeast
¾ cup warm milk
2 tbsp butter, melted
1 egg
½ cup raisins or dried fruits
Directions
- In a bowl, mix warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add flour, sugar, spices, salt, butter, egg, and raisins. Knead into a soft dough.
- Cover and let it rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Divide dough into equal portions and shape into buns.
- Arrange on a baking tray and let rise again for 30 minutes.
- Mix flour and water to form a paste and pipe crosses on top.
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 18–20 minutes.
- Heat sugar and water to make glaze and brush over warm buns.
- Serve warm.
